Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar Hosted an inspiring Documentary Film Making Competition - Tourism Ideathon on August 17, 2024. For students it was indeed a unique blend of Creativity and Learning. It was a distinctive event that brought together enthusiastic students from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Bhopal. This signature initiative of SPS Gandhi Nagar offered an experiential learning platform beyond conventional academics, enabling students to delve deeper into various skills of Film Making from creativity to research, to cinematography, to narration, to editing skills. The event commenced on an auspicious note with a Saraswati Puja, led by Principal Alpa Tukaram Prabhu, Vice Principal Ritisha Gupta, and the judges Dr. Sudhir Aazad and Dr. Nilima Varma. Their presence added a spiritual start, infusing the day with positivity and hope. As a mark of appreciation, the Principal also presented sapling to the esteemed guests, symbolizing growth and knowledge. The highlight of the Ideathon was a captivating short Film -making competition judged by Dr. Nilima Varma, Director of the MP Institute of Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism, and Dr. Sudhir Aazad, renowned author, film maker and winner of various National and International Awards. Participants displayed remarkable creativity, capturing the essence of diverse cultures, iconic landmarks, and immersive travel experiences. The films reflected a profound understanding of the tourism industry and the students' innovative perspectives. The results of the competition are: Winners - DPS Neelbad, 1st Runner-up - SPS Katara Extension, 2nd Runner-up - SPS Gandhi Nagar. However, as the host school, SPS Gandhi Nagar graciously passed the Award to the 4th team - Mithi Gobindram Public School. The event culminated in an inspirational ASPIRE session by Dr. Sudhir Aazad, who encouraged students to fearlessly pursue careers in the film and tourism sectors. Updating the students on the nuances of Film Making, he emphasized the limitless opportunities these industries offer and urged young minds to tap into their potential and aspirations.
